After a several major cities such as, London, New York, Tokyo and Paris, Chanel - The Little Black Jacket photo exhibition has finally came to the last stop at Singapore! How lucky I am to live in a country just beside Singapore! Collaborating with former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld, Karl Lagerfeld has published a book called The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's classic revisited.
The exhibition featured over 100 models, celebrities, musicians black and white photos who all wore the iconic tweed black jacket styling by Carine Roitfeld. It is all Karl's favorite muses and photograph by himself. This is a stunning exhibition! Thanks Karl! <3
A biography of Karl Lagerfeld:
Karl Lagerfeld was born in 1938 in Hamburg. Educated in 3 languages, he was accepted to a French high school in 1952. He did not complete his secondary studies however, as at the end of 1954 he won an international competition for amateurs from the international wool fashion office, left school, and began working as as assistant for Pierre Balmain in 1955.
Alongside his international career as a fashion designer and stylist, Lagerfeld began working as a professional photographer in 1987, in october 1993 he received the lucky strike design award from The Raymond Loewy Foundation, in 1996 The Culture Prize from the German Photographic Society, and in 2007 the Trustees Award from the International Center of Photography in New York. He founded together with Gerhard Steidl Edition 7L Publishers in 2000, the same year which he opened the bookstore Libraire 7L in Paris. In 2010 Lagerfeld established L.S.D.
